Zero watched the shadow in the sky until he couldn’t see it anymore. He then turned his attention to Neo Arcadia. He wanted to keep fighting, or destroy things. That city seemed like the best place to do both. However something in the back of his mind told him not to. He didn’t listen to it however and walked to the edge of the cliff, debating.
The large dragon spotted a forest a ways from the base of the mountain with a stream. That looked like a good place to hide. With a slight curve of his wings, Axl gently descended into the thick forest by the river. Using three legs to land, the black reptile grunted as his legs threatened to give, but he wouldn’t let them.
Gently releasing his master so he was leaning against a tree, the dragon sat and went into a low bow. “I apologize, Master. I failed to defeat our opponent and failed to protect you. I am unworthy of being your subordinate and pet. Any punishment you see fit, I will take without question.”
X’s breathing had regulated to something normal by the time Axl landed, but his head still hurt terribly from being thrown into a rocky cliff. He watched the dragon in front of him, trying to make sense of what he had said. Punishment? He didn’t deserve to be punished. Not for what had happened. Zero was incredibly powerful; he understood that he wouldn’t be able to defeat him outright.
X reached over to the dragon. At first it appeared he would attack him, but he simply placed his hand on the dragon’s snout in a nonverbal thank-you.
Zero stared at Neo Arcadia for a moment, but then glanced down at his arm. He needed repairs. Those two would be back and he needed to be in at least decent shape. He grimaced slightly and flew back to a hideout he had. The city would have to wait for now.
((Sneaking a post here because this is relevant, since Zero got unconfortably close to NA, with bad intentions.))
The barrier placed, surrounding the city, pulsated. Zero had gotten close to the start, too close. His ill intent was detected by the creature who had set it up.
However, it seemed Zero would leave. The barrier stopped its activity to lay in passive wait once more.
It was one of the only times Harpuia found this form to be to his advantage. With these powers, he could protect Neo Arcadia, and lay in wait when it was not in danger. He didn’t know what Zero was up to, however. He didn’t know he had fought X and his dragon. He only knew the reploid came with ill will of sorts, but left.
Good.
He didn’t want to fight.
He just wanted to… drown…
Grief.
(( I almost want to keep going with this. Also I couldn’t help not replying. ))
Zero paused before taking off and looked over his shoulder at the city. Something was defending it. Maybe it would be fun to fight. He turned to face Neo Arcadia again and walked to the edge of the cliff. There was a barrier. How interesting. He glided closer to the city, but still remained hidden from the humans between rocks. He glanced around trying to find the source of the barrier, but wasn’t exactly sure where it was coming from. Maybe threatening some humans would make it come out. It obviously wasn’t a machine making it, so maybe it was a guardian.
